The main aim of the research presented in this paper is to address the problem of early school leaving in vocational schools. For this aim we encourage the designing of co-disciplinary training courses, co-designed and co-led in the classroom by mathematics teachers and teachers of vocational subjects to bring out the existing link between the vocational subject and Mathematics. The link between the subjects is based on some vocational artefacts following the Theory of Semiotic Mediation and used as Boundary Artefacts. In this paper we analyse their semiotic potential and how their use has been fundamental in a co-disciplinary intervention which involved Mathematics and Fashion.
