Study of grapevine virus diseases in Ukraine allowed to establish the levels of visual symptoms manifestation and latent infection by them. This determines the relevance of their control in breeding and clonal selection, in clone repository banks and ampelographic collections and in the process of certified grapevine planting material. Material and methods: A clone repository in protected soil (109 samples), ampelographic collection (848 samples), clonal trial and breeding plots, basic mother plantations. Visual inspection of symptoms, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, reverse transcription PCR were used to detect levels of infection. Results: Clone selection and repository Virus control is carried out annually visually on clonal trial plots of the first and second vegetative progenies and the clone repository and selectively by ELISA and PCR methods. Most often, leafroll 1 and 3 viruses (up to 8%) and grapevine fleck virus (up to 10-12%) are detected at the first stages of clonal selection (P0), less often – grapevine fanleaf virus. The clone repository is maintained in protected soil conditions on a zeolite substrate, which allows preventing secondary infection due to the activity of vectors Breeding and ampelographic collection
