The wine sector is a driving force for the Italian economy and Apulian region is one of the leading grape growing regions in Italy. New "green" technologies can improve the sustainability of production processes, reducing the environmental impact and, reinforcing economic competitiveness through a rationalization of the use of resources. Phytosanitary management of vineyards is a crucial point, and new disease management strategies can lead to satisfy market demands of low environmental impact and safe products, free of Ochratoxin A (OTA). The main objective of the project is to integrate green technologies into production system to increase the sustainability of viticulture. To achieve this, new biomolecules and biocontrol agents with antimicrobial activity will be identified and characterize through innovative molecular approaches, such as metagenomics analysis of the microbiome of grapes. Furthermore, the molecules thus obtained and different chemicals will be tested in bio-based nanocarrier formulations, aimed at increasing transport efficiency, while the impact on the microbiome of different control strategies will be evaluated in order to avoid new phytosanitary emergencies. The safety of wine, free of OTA, will be pursued through the study of the OTA biosynthetic pathway and the development of new molecular diagnostic systems for Aspergillus carbonarius, while the calibration of a decision support system will allow the rationalization of the use of plant protection products.

Abstract
The safety of wine, free of OTA, will be pursued through the study of the OTA biosynthetic pathway and the development of new molecular diagnostic systems for Aspergillus carbonarius, while the calibration of a decision support system will allow the rationalization of the use of plant protection products.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
