Modellistica previsionale del biogas di discarica di rifiuti solidi urbani: proposta di un modello semplificato

Numerous Life Cycle Assessment studies applied to municipal waste management systems have addressed the problem of quantifying long-term landfill gas emissions from a certain amount of waste disposed of. The quantification of landfill gas production is normally carried out through production models characterised by a series of input parameters to be measured. The measurement of these input data is particularly difficult, especially if one considers the specific characteristics of the site of the landfill object of the study. There are different approaches and models adopted by the authors to solve this problem. Starting from a bibliographic review, the present research work illustrates the models used by the various authors to estimate the long-term biogas emissions in the field of LCA studies on municipal solid waste. Considering the complexity of the models used in the literature due to the numerous parameters to be set, a simplified model for estimating biogas emissions is proposed, starting from a certain quantity of waste.
