Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A.: un’esperienza concreta di bio-monitoraggio con api

Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. is an Italian brand that develop, produce and commercialize motors and motorbikes all over the world. Interested in controlling toxic emissions derived from its production process, since 2016 Ducati have developed a biomonitoring program using honeybee as the “marker” organism. Three beehives Dadant-blatt type with 12 frames have been located since March 2017 in the headquarter of Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. (Borgo Panigale, Bologna, Italy). Bees, honey and beeswax have been sampled in June and September to be analyzed for the identification and quantification of pesticides, heavy metals, and other compounds. Interesting results have been produced and then employed for developing methods and technique useful to reduce the impact of this firm on the local ecosystem
