Abstract
In consulting a multimedia information system the user may need an explanation about a particular topic. When users of the system belong to different categories, with different characteristics, and cultural background, their information needs are different. In addition, when dealing with multimedia messages, it becomes important to achieve an effective integration of media by synchronizing in time and space heterogeneous objects of the message. This paper describes how we combined user modelling and Petri nets in order to achieve an effective integration of media and to generate user-adapted multimedia explanations in a system supporting clinical guidelines consultation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
