This paper aims at further defining Galileo Galilei's position in the debate between supporters and detractors of the "Furioso" and the "Liberata". When reading the "Considerazioni al Tasso" and the "Postille all'Ariosto", special attention is paid to the scientist's expressive range and poetic delicacy by highlighting the stylistic and cultural preferences that led him to have a preference for the arguments of traditional classicism.
