We study a modified version of the ''AgBr'' Hamiltonian and analyze its weak-coupling, macroscopic limit, obtaining an exponential behavior at all times for a certain propagator. Such a behavior, yielding a ''probability dissipation'', is closely related to the phenomenon of decoherence (loss of quantum mechanical coherence). We stress the central relevance of the problem of dissipation to the quantum measurement theory and to the general topic of decoherence.

Abstract
We study a modified version of the ''AgBr'' Hamiltonian and analyze its weak-coupling, macroscopic limit, obtaining an exponential behavior at all times for a certain propagator. Such a behavior, yielding a ''probability dissipation'', is closely related to the phenomenon of decoherence (loss of quantum mechanical coherence). We stress the central relevance of the problem of dissipation to the quantum measurement theory and to the general topic of decoherence.File in questo prodotto:
