What does rediscovering the meaning of a phenomenologi cally grounded education mean? What value does existence assume in the unfolding of the training process? How can we rethink the passage of existences as a journey of formation towards more or less unknown destinations? The aim of this work is to think educational and training processes starting from a renewed gaze capable of intercepting the sense of plan ning in people’s life stories, even before dealing with methods, practices and tools. Requalifying the philosophy of education as the root of all pedagogical planning is a necessary choice: education is not built through the aesthetic or narcissistic taste of the professional, much less through the use of standardized tools chosen by virtue of the technologicalizing avant-gardes or the fashions of the moment, but through the construction of an ethical competence that allows the professional to stay in the flow of meaning of the existences that needs to be realized in the time and space that characterizes the educational and/or training process.
