The organisational structure of public bodies and management in the Albanian public sector: Case of study, General Directorate of State Police

Abstract: This work provides an original contribution to the analysis of the nature of public bodies and their organization in terms of structure and how it influences their management. Public bodies, like all legal entities, have their own internal organization, organizational structures and operational mechanisms. In particular, the organization and structure of public bodies is made up of assets and natural persons who act on behalf of the body. With this research we tried to analyze the fact or how organizational theories can influence internal management in the public sector? The choice of analyzing this topic is because is an argument little covered by researchers in the public administration field. The objective is to identify all those elements which characterize all public bodies from an organizational point of view. Furthermore, particular attention is paid to organizational processes which are associated with the external environment, objectives, control mechanisms and corporate responsibility. In this work was undertaken, a single case study approach, examining the importance of management and implementation initiative in a public organizational structure such as General Directorate of the State Police in Albania. Multiple qualitative data were collected through interviews with various managers at different management levels. A careful review of the theoretical framework was made, to identify all the factors that help to analyze and report the key processes that influence the organizational and management choices of public bodies
