To gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs and preferences of the elderly population, we conducted an analysis on reviews from TripAdvisor, focusing on hotels and accommodation facilities. These reviews provide valuable and spontaneous feedback from tourists, offering a rich blend of opinions and impressions. So, we employed Non-Negative Matrix Factorization to extract meaningful insights from reviews for the identification of the main discussion topics and to inform researchers and industry practitioners on the topics of interest. This analysis enables tourism and destination management operators to gain a deeper understanding of the feedback and leverage this technique to enhance their offerings and attractions, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for senior travellers.

Abstract
To gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs and preferences of the elderly population, we conducted an analysis on reviews from TripAdvisor, focusing on hotels and accommodation facilities. These reviews provide valuable and spontaneous feedback from tourists, offering a rich blend of opinions and impressions. So, we employed Non-Negative Matrix Factorization to extract meaningful insights from reviews for the identification of the main discussion topics and to inform researchers and industry practitioners on the topics of interest. This analysis enables tourism and destination management operators to gain a deeper understanding of the feedback and leverage this technique to enhance their offerings and attractions, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for senior travellers.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
