Feeding habits of Helicolenus dactylopterus were analysed in different habitats of the central Mediterranean. The trophic spectrum of this commercial species was mainly composed of crustaceans, for the smaller specimens distributed on muddy bottoms, while teleosts predominate for the larger specimens collected in the Bari canyon.
