In the Sicilian territory, the heritage project is very often confronted with the theme of ruin, understood as a not at all indifferent operable material, which has its own collective memory and will. In the wake of a tradition that has eloquent examples in Sicily, three recent experiences - degree theses in Building Engineering-Architecture at the University of Palermo - verify some theoretical assumptions through the project and experiment with innovative solutions for a contemporary use of the ruined heritage. It is not a question of the museumisation of the heritage - nor are there specific intended uses - but of interventions that respond to a logic of inter-scalarity, which express with their own essential and precise language, which interpret the contemporary space of the ruin to inhabit the complexity and multiplicity of existing heritage.

Abstract
In the Sicilian territory, the heritage project is very often confronted with the theme of ruin, understood as a not at all indifferent operable material, which has its own collective memory and will. In the wake of a tradition that has eloquent examples in Sicily, three recent experiences - degree theses in Building Engineering-Architecture at the University of Palermo - verify some theoretical assumptions through the project and experiment with innovative solutions for a contemporary use of the ruined heritage. It is not a question of the museumisation of the heritage - nor are there specific intended uses - but of interventions that respond to a logic of inter-scalarity, which express with their own essential and precise language, which interpret the contemporary space of the ruin to inhabit the complexity and multiplicity of existing heritage.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
