This article presents the preliminary data of topographical surveys carried out in 2022 in the localities Minerva and Montecamplo, in the territory of Castellaneta (TA). The researches provided new information on the possible identification of Minerva and Mons Campi, settlements mentioned in the itinerary between Oria (BR) and Acerenza (PZ) described in the Guidone’s Geographica at the beginning of the 12th century. The surveys were carried out as part of a project aimed at deepening knowledge on the historical-archaeological dynamics that affected the road routes that followed the Appian Way and the territory they crossed in the Middle Ages.
