In this article, I describe "Philosophia Ludens," a teaching method that allows people of all ages to engage in philosophy, even in schools where it is not a formal subject. I shall focus in particular on the following noteworthy features of the method: how it fts within the model of competency-based learning; its role within citizenship education; its connection with the philosophical tradition; its conception of the notion of agon in connection with philosophy and philosophical activities. As a whole, the paper aims to introduce the core principles of “Philosophia Ludens”, some of its pedagogical and philosophical assumptions, and some of its core didactical choices.
