This article aims to clarify what is meant by kinetic competence as a sub-competence of communicative competence and what its role in language education is. After some theoretical clarifications, the functions of gestures in the educational context are analysed and the teaching of symbolic gestures is outlined as a goal of pragmatic and intercultural language education.
Il contributo vuole chiarire che cosa si intende per competenza cinesica come sotto-competenza della competenza comunicativa e qual è il suo ruolo nell’educazione linguistica. Dopo alcune chiarificazioni teoriche, vengono analizzate le funzioni dei gesti in contesto didattico e viene delineato l’insegnamento dei gesti simbolici in una didattica delle lingue in chiave pragmatica e interculturale.
