Micromolluscs are easily-overlooked poor-studied molluscs many species of which live and feed as ectoparasites of benthic invertebrates. Due to their small size and peculiar habitat, micromolluscs are still scantly known. The present study reports the occurrence of small molluscs on three different species of sea urchin sampled at Isole Tremiti Marine Protected Area (southern Adriatic, Italy). The surprisingly abundant occurrence of Vitreolina philippi (Gastropoda: Eulimidae) is reported and discussed, representing the first record of living specimens on sea urchins for the study area.

Abstract
Micromolluscs are easily-overlooked poor-studied molluscs many species of which live and feed as ectoparasites of benthic invertebrates. Due to their small size and peculiar habitat, micromolluscs are still scantly known. The present study reports the occurrence of small molluscs on three different species of sea urchin sampled at Isole Tremiti Marine Protected Area (southern Adriatic, Italy). The surprisingly abundant occurrence of Vitreolina philippi (Gastropoda: Eulimidae) is reported and discussed, representing the first record of living specimens on sea urchins for the study area.File in questo prodotto:
