The efficiency of the judicial system should be one of the main objectives of every democratic state, mainly to prevent the continuation of uncertainty, from a legal and procedural point of view, which can cause prejudice and harm to those who are subjected to a trial. Among the institutions that have the greatest impact on economic performance, the legal and judicial system plays a prominent role. Un-derstanding how laws and regulations affect economic behaviour is fundamental in modern econo-mies and the economy facilitates the identification of those that are, in each country system, the in-centives to the litigation, the process of litigation itself and the costs, in order to verify the distribu-tive impact of the different legal and judicial systems and what features they should have to encour-age economic growth. Our analysis, using data disaggregated at district level, has the goal of measuring the efficiency of the Italian judicial offices, empirically estimating a quantile regression model to evaluate the performance of the courts. Data referred to 2021 about judges, pending cases on, incoming cases, as well as resolved cases are extracted from the annual reports of the Italian Ministry of Justice.

Abstract
Data referred to 2021 about judges, pending cases on, incoming cases, as well as resolved cases are extracted from the annual reports of the Italian Ministry of Justice.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
