Abstract: The word dialogue is not unblemished – F. Jullien writes –, because it is composed with Western ‘logos’ (dia-logos), logos that was and is often conceptual/dominant/dominating. Moving between texts of a more intercultural type (such as There Is No Such Thing As Cultural Identity) and of a more interpersonal nature (such as About Intimacy), this essay tries to play these two levels with each other, to give substance to the attempt to pass from dia-logos (dialogue) between identity/differences to entre-tenir... écarts: because only in this way life can fertilize life. And the unpredictable can become a resource and not just an offense.
