In the last decades the cruise sector has shown a rapid growth on a global level, allowing high revenues; in the meantime, this circumstance stressed tourist destina-tions and natural resources, leading them to a gradual deterioration. The imple-mentation of sustainable tourism practices, boosted by stringent regulations, has stimulated the cruise companies to draw up the sustainability reports, according to the GRI Standards. In particular, some 300 Series GRIs were analysed and com-pared. The aim is twofold: to highlight the cruise sector impacts that, mostly, due to their concentration in time and space, need to be identified and quantified; the second level of analysis has highlighted how much a tool, such as the Global Re-porting Initiative can allow for comparative analysis. This paper provided for a comparison between three cruise line companies with reference to four GRI of the 300 series; moreover, a focus was made on a specific company by comparing the sustainability reports over the years, with the aim of assessing the importance at-tributed by the company to environmental performance compared to those ex-pressed in the GRI standards (in particular economic and social aspects).

Abstract
This paper provided for a comparison between three cruise line companies with reference to four GRI of the 300 series; moreover, a focus was made on a specific company by comparing the sustainability reports over the years, with the aim of assessing the importance at-tributed by the company to environmental performance compared to those ex-pressed in the GRI standards (in particular economic and social aspects).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
