The Tomb of the Dancers of Ruvo di Puglia from excavation to restoration, analysis and contemporary fruition The pictorial fragments of the Tomb of the Dancers of Ruvo di Puglia have an articulated history, starting from the 19th-century discovery. After disassembly and reduction in thickness of the limestone blocks, repeated restorations followed one another in Ruvo and then in Naples. These events, traced through the re-examination of the 19th-century graphic documentation and the autopsy of the six surviving painted panels, led to the current state of conservation of the paintings. Their analysis led to the most recent reconstruction of the tomb, also elaborated in a 3D video. This paper proposes a hypothesis of multimedia enhancement of the painted plates in the new layout of the Magna Grecia section of the MANN, which combines the explanation of the tomb with the planning of live events connecting material remains with the intangible heritage made up of ancient ritual and dance traditions still surviving in some Mediterranean areas.

Abstract
This paper proposes a hypothesis of multimedia enhancement of the painted plates in the new layout of the Magna Grecia section of the MANN, which combines the explanation of the tomb with the planning of live events connecting material remains with the intangible heritage made up of ancient ritual and dance traditions still surviving in some Mediterranean areas.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
