In 2013 the University of Bari and the Consortium Laboratory Aerophotographic Center of the University of Bari, under the scientific direction of the writer, have launched the interdiscipli - nary study on The Territorial Context and the Abbey-Castle of St. Stephen di Monopoli (BA): knowledge, conservation and development, which aims to ensure the site stay as long as possible in time, respecting its identity and uniqueness. The project is divided into a plan of knowledge, conservation and development, and is coordinated with the owner of the site, prof. adv. Savero De Bellis. Knowledge plan develope with historical-documentary investigation, design and survey and non-invasive diagnostic tests campaigns. Goals are: the architectural knowledge, geometric-dimensional, historical-critical and material-construction of the fortified arte - fact, as well as recognition of the major occupation phases of the same.
