The article describes the results achieved through the investigation of two annotated corpora consisting of EU and UK calls for proposals in order to analyse the linguistic features of the discourse in EU documents. More specifically, the article discusses how the genre of EU calls for proposals realizes a typical Field, Tenor and Mode of discourse in its lexico-grammatical systems (Theme/Mood/Transitivity).
