In the present survey, PCBs residues in the muscle of pelagic fish (S. pilchardus, S. aurita, S. scombrus e T. trachurus) were determined in order to evaluate the risk for humans, resulting from the consumption of these species. High levels were found in S. scombrus (718 ıg/kg), followed by T. trachurus (439 ıg/kg), S. aurita (196 ıg/kg) and S. pilchardus (138 ıg/kg). Toxic equivalent concentrations (TEQs) relatively to “dioxin-like” PCBs, varying from 0,01 to 1,84 pg/TEQs/body weight/day were in the range imposed by WHO (1-4 pg/TEQs/kg). However, those values are not to be underestimate considering that the daily intake is referred solely to PCBs.

Abstract
However, those values are not to be underestimate considering that the daily intake is referred solely to PCBs.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
