High quality teaching/learning processes can be produced by means of a multidisciplinary approach; this type of approach is currently undergoing an exponential increase in the integration of pedagogical, cognitive, specific didactic and information sciences. The present work aims to investigate whether Educational Technology can foster effective student motivation to learn the content of such processes. It also advances a hypothesis regarding the decisions that should be taken when choosing ways of engendering motivation to be implemented in a Web-based environment. The main idea is to explain the needs of a model that can be used to design and develop this kind of environments. A Web-based Cooperative Learning Environment Design Model (WebCLED Model) is described, that aims to provide a guide for designing a system that can foster effective motivation to learn.

Abstract
High quality teaching/learning processes can be produced by means of a multidisciplinary approach; this type of approach is currently undergoing an exponential increase in the integration of pedagogical, cognitive, specific didactic and information sciences. The present work aims to investigate whether Educational Technology can foster effective student motivation to learn the content of such processes. It also advances a hypothesis regarding the decisions that should be taken when choosing ways of engendering motivation to be implemented in a Web-based environment. The main idea is to explain the needs of a model that can be used to design and develop this kind of environments. A Web-based Cooperative Learning Environment Design Model (WebCLED Model) is described, that aims to provide a guide for designing a system that can foster effective motivation to learn.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
