Abstract
When visiting cities as tourists, most users intend 6 to explore the area looking for interesting things to see or 7 for information about places, events, and so on. In order to 8 help the user choice, an adaptive information system should 9 provide contextual information, information clustering and 10 comparison presentation of objects of potential interest in 11 the area where the user is located. To this aim, we devel12 oped a system, called MyMap, able to generate personalized 13 presentation of objects of interest starting from an annotated 14 city-map. MyMap combines context and user modelling with 15 natural language generation for suggesting to the user what 16 could be interesting to see and to do using as interaction 17 metaphor an annotated tourist map. An evaluation study has 18 shown that the quality of the generated description is good 19 enough when compared with human written onesI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
