We report a clinical case of bovine anaplasmosis associated with A. centrale infection in Italy. The causative agent, together with four additional A. centrale strains detected in southern Italy were compared by sequence and phylogenetic analysis. To our knowledge this is the first report of A. centrale infection in continental Europe supported by molecular investigations.

Abstract
