Greenhouse equipment for climate control such as heating and cooling systems require a large amount of energy with high costs for the growers. Besides, fossil fuels such as diesel or gas and electrical energy are used to feed greenhouse equipment, with a high environmental impact. A growing environmental awareness has been prompting research to introduce renewable energy sources, such as solar thermal energy, solar photovoltaic energy and wind energy to feed greenhouse equipment. The application of renewable energy sources of energy requires the adaptation of the electronic systems now used to drive greenhouse climate control equipment. The new systems must integrate the microclimate needs of the plants and the greenhouse energy needs with the intermittent form of the renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy.

Abstract
Greenhouse equipment for climate control such as heating and cooling systems require a large amount of energy with high costs for the growers. Besides, fossil fuels such as diesel or gas and electrical energy are used to feed greenhouse equipment, with a high environmental impact. A growing environmental awareness has been prompting research to introduce renewable energy sources, such as solar thermal energy, solar photovoltaic energy and wind energy to feed greenhouse equipment. The application of renewable energy sources of energy requires the adaptation of the electronic systems now used to drive greenhouse climate control equipment. The new systems must integrate the microclimate needs of the plants and the greenhouse energy needs with the intermittent form of the renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
