The disease caused by canine coronavirus (CCoV) has not been adequately investigated and the actual role that this virus plays in canine enteric illness still has not been well established. Since the first identification of the virus in the 1971, CCoV has evolved and a new genotype has been recently identified in the faeces of the infected dogs. The demonstrated wide diffusion of this new viral type in the dog population, emphasizes both the need for more in-depth investigation of the pathogenetic role of the new CCoV genotype, and the epidemiological relevance of immunization of dogs.

Abstract
The disease caused by canine coronavirus (CCoV) has not been adequately investigated and the actual role that this virus plays in canine enteric illness still has not been well established. Since the first identification of the virus in the 1971, CCoV has evolved and a new genotype has been recently identified in the faeces of the infected dogs. The demonstrated wide diffusion of this new viral type in the dog population, emphasizes both the need for more in-depth investigation of the pathogenetic role of the new CCoV genotype, and the epidemiological relevance of immunization of dogs.File in questo prodotto:
