The article deals with Emily Dickinson’s poetry, which is interpreted in relation to her cultural and religious background (Puritanism, Trascendentalism) but also in its differences from the Romantic movement. In this perspective the poet, poetic/artistic creation, death and life after death, nature are recurrent subjects of her poetry, which demonstrate her originality and new way of writing.
