The paper argues in favor of solidarity as one of the fundamental values of human communities, by drawing a comparison with Rorty's pragmatism and Ferrari's new realism. Although an objective reality is admitted, the value of solidarity can be preserved. Its foundation might be the emotional-experiential sphere of human beings, who are constitutionally engaged in reciprocal recognition patterns.
