The potential of high-performance liq. chromatog. (HPLC) with diode-array detection of the profiling of mycotoxins in food samples has been demonstrated. A gradient elution reversed-phase chromatog. method coupled with a suitable extn. procedure was devised for the sepn. and detection of major Alternaria mycotoxins in foods. Altenuene, alternariol, alternariol Me ether (dibenzo--pyrone derivs.), altertoxin-I and altertoxin-II (perylene derivs.) were profiled in exts. of artificially infected corn, rice, and tomato samples and naturally contaminated sunflower seeds. First evidence of the occurrence of a new dibenzo--pyrone deriv. in Alternaria cultures is also reported.

Abstract
First evidence of the occurrence of a new dibenzo--pyrone deriv. in Alternaria cultures is also reported.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
