In this paper are studied 10 fragments, all linked to the exemplary stories of three Roman republican personages. Two of them deal with the feigned madness of Brutus, two concern the imprisonment and cruel death of Atilius Regulus, and six involve the death of Claudius Marcellus. Through a detailed comparison of all the surviving narratives about those personages, these fragments, largely anonymous and never identified so far, have been attributed to Aelian's On the divine manifestations.

Abstract
In this paper are studied 10 fragments, all linked to the exemplary stories of three Roman republican personages. Two of them deal with the feigned madness of Brutus, two concern the imprisonment and cruel death of Atilius Regulus, and six involve the death of Claudius Marcellus. Through a detailed comparison of all the surviving narratives about those personages, these fragments, largely anonymous and never identified so far, have been attributed to Aelian's On the divine manifestations.File in questo prodotto:
