This paper describes a quantitative approach for the skill gap analysis, with the aim of designing training courses. Through a measure of discrepancy between competencies needed to perform a certain task and those actually owned by workers playing this task, it is possible to identify situations that require training in-terventions. The indicator can also be used in the construction of several training courses and for the identification of users of such activities.

Abstract
