One of the most important problems in e-learning is undoubtedly the interaction mode during a courseware development. Particularly, alternative interaction modes are being studied within an e-learning platform able to meet the communication and cooperation needs, as well as being able to adapt to the various possible learning processes. In order to meet these needs, we became aware of the necessity of relying on a flexible "pedagogical" support able to adapt to the learner according to his/her characteristics. We made use of an animated agent able to interact through remarkable expressive modes with the student. It was thus possible to outline a virtual tutor which can support the student during his/her own learning process.

Abstract
One of the most important problems in e-learning is undoubtedly the interaction mode during a courseware development. Particularly, alternative interaction modes are being studied within an e-learning platform able to meet the communication and cooperation needs, as well as being able to adapt to the various possible learning processes. In order to meet these needs, we became aware of the necessity of relying on a flexible "pedagogical" support able to adapt to the learner according to his/her characteristics. We made use of an animated agent able to interact through remarkable expressive modes with the student. It was thus possible to outline a virtual tutor which can support the student during his/her own learning process.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
