Through the analysis of the sources hagiographical, archaeological and documentary is investigated the Reconstruction of the cult phenomenon related to Sabinus, Bishop of Canosa in the 6th century (are proposed also the various hypotheses related to his Church-sanctuary) The presentation of the Sanctuary of San Sabino involves an introduction reporting its dedication (including the possible transformations of the dedication itself), its geographical location and its ecclesiastical administration. The text deals with the history of the sanctuary; The textual sources related to the Sanctuary are also reported, as well as the secondary literature (bibliography).
Attraverso l'analisi di fonti agiografiche, archeologiche e documentarie viene ricostruito l'iter cultuale di San Sabino, vescovo di Canosa nel VI secolo, figura di riferimento nel cristianesimo dell'Italia meridionale. Sono indagate le varie ipotesi relative alla trasformazione dell'originario luogo di culto, alla traslazione delle sue reliquie e alla nascita di una autonoma tradizione cultuale. Particolare attenzione è dedicata all'analisi delle fonti agiografiche e alla bibliografia più recente.
