This introductory text to the volume examines culture-based language learning in the field of German as a Foreign Language (DaF) against the backdrop of the fact that multilingualism and multiculturalism are becoming increasingly important in today’s world, which is shaped by globalisation, post-migration processes and digitalisation. With a variety of theoretical, textbook-critical and practice-oriented contributions, this volume aims to contribute to the current debate on the didactics of multilingualism and multiculturalism.
