Pilgrimage is an act of worship and a manifestation of religious freedom, conceptually and juridically distinct from religious and cultural tourism, also by virtue of its character as a phenomenon operating across distinct legal orders. In the relationship between the legal status of the pilgrim and the protection of freedom of movement, particular attention is paid to the “Jubilee-Tourism” visa, introduced in 2025, as an example of cooperation between civil and religious authorities aimed at facilitating the devotional mobility of the faithful. This experience highlights the opportunity to permanently introduce a pilgrimage visa, other than the tourist visa. Finally, the study explores the role of digital innovation in today’s management of religious flows, with a prospective look at virtual reality in the devotional dimension.

Abstract
Finally, the study explores the role of digital innovation in today’s management of religious flows, with a prospective look at virtual reality in the devotional dimension.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
