The article focuses on the aspects of the economic and administrative management of the Theatres of the Second Empire in Paris. The examination of the files of the State budget con- cerning the management of the theatres preserved at the Archives Nationales has allowed us to highlight the role of the political power dedicated to using the economic lever to gain the benevolence and satisfaction of those who had a role in the theatrical life of Paris.
