This paper aims to explore the influence of the Cold War on the comic book series published by Bonelli. The methodology will be based on the heuristic reflections introduced by Meda (2007) in his book about the influence of American comics in Italy between 1935 and 1955. The present paper extends this kind of study until the 1980s, bringing together the findings of this research with the studies conducted by Costello (2009) on the synergies between comics and the Cold War. It aims to verify the attitude of support or criticism expressed by Bonelli’s comic book series with regard to the Cold War.
