The need to ensure the safety of navigation, permeated by publicistic profiles, allowed the creation of a specific international, european and national legislation to prevent marine casualties and to investigate the causes also to identify where the responsibility lies. The present study focuses on issues relating to marine casualties caused by fire on the ship investigating the legal nature of the different investigations.
