This paper elaborates on the moral, epistemic, and political dimensions of ‘fraternity’ and ‘sorority’. It builds on some ideas presented in Pope Francis’ encyclical Fratelli Tutti. It focuses on the concepts of generosity and vulnerability as guiding principles for the formation of the person, and as conditions for open and self-transforming interaction in contrast with the notion of sovereignty.
