Based on the rich literature confirming the positive impact of gender diversity on firm performance (Birindelli & Iannuzzi, 2022), we hypothesize that investing primarily through a gender lens could potentially increase SR fund performance. We believe that bridging this gap is essential to guiding investment choices in an increasingly informed and profitable manner. By using this lens, investors could benefit from important profit opportunities while simultaneously contributing to the achievement of greater gender equality. Equal gender opportunities are, in turn, powerful levers to grow global prosperity and move us closer to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations by 2030 (Martí-Ballester, 2023).
