The volume examines the impact of artificial intelligence on law, highlighting the profound ontological, epistemological and normative transformations that expert systems introduce into contemporary legal rationality. Through an original interdisciplinary interplay of theoretical, technical, and applied contributions, the work critically addresses the new challenges posed by the automation of decision-making processes, the risks associated with predictive forms of criminal governance, and the use of algorithmic logic in judicial and administrative contexts. What emerges is a portrait of a law in transition, called upon to confront a “mute and opaque” language grounded in calculation rather than meaning, and the need to preserve the centrality of the human being within a digital ecosystem dominated by computational power and global interconnection.

Abstract
The volume examines the impact of artificial intelligence on law, highlighting the profound ontological, epistemological and normative transformations that expert systems introduce into contemporary legal rationality. Through an original interdisciplinary interplay of theoretical, technical, and applied contributions, the work critically addresses the new challenges posed by the automation of decision-making processes, the risks associated with predictive forms of criminal governance, and the use of algorithmic logic in judicial and administrative contexts. What emerges is a portrait of a law in transition, called upon to confront a “mute and opaque” language grounded in calculation rather than meaning, and the need to preserve the centrality of the human being within a digital ecosystem dominated by computational power and global interconnection.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
