Thomas Aquinas’s reflection on the Politics of Aristotle represents the most reliable interpretative source regarding Plato's Laws, given that a direct reading of the work must be excluded. But it cannot also be denied how much Aquinas owes to the late Neo-Platonic contribution to the last Platonic dialogue, and the fascination aroused by this literature on other medieval intellectuals. This essay aims to highlight Plato's influences on Aquinas's last work, the De Regno, so much as to consider the Athenian philosopher as not an entirely marginal figure for the political thought of Doctor Anglicus. Keywords: Medieval Political Thought, De Regno, Thomas of Aquinas, Laws, Plato.
