A simple, rapid, and sensitive HPLC method for the detn. of trace amts. of resorcinol [108-46-3] in body fluids is described. A reversed-phase C18 column and isocratic elution with amperometric detection on a glassy C electrode were used; 3,5-dihydroxytoluol was used as internal std. Sample treatment consisted of a simple microcolumn extn. step requiring sample vols. as low as 200 L. The proposed method gives detection limits (4 and 5 ng/mL in the serum and urine, resp.) about 2 orders of magnitude lower than other HPLC methods already reported and should prove useful for studying dermal adsorption and metabolic disposition of topically applied resorcinol.

Abstract
A simple, rapid, and sensitive HPLC method for the detn. of trace amts. of resorcinol [108-46-3] in body fluids is described. A reversed-phase C18 column and isocratic elution with amperometric detection on a glassy C electrode were used; 3,5-dihydroxytoluol was used as internal std. Sample treatment consisted of a simple microcolumn extn. step requiring sample vols. as low as 200 L. The proposed method gives detection limits (4 and 5 ng/mL in the serum and urine, resp.) about 2 orders of magnitude lower than other HPLC methods already reported and should prove useful for studying dermal adsorption and metabolic disposition of topically applied resorcinol.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
