The paper focuses on Meleager’s epigram AP 5.177, where the poet presents Eros as a runaway slave. The analysis intends to highlight Meleager’s meter, his lexical and poetic sophistication in describing the god and the conflictual relationship with him. Particular attention is paid to the complex dialogue with the Homeric tradition, which manifests itself in forms ranging from a vague literary memory to a more specifically allusive way.
Il contributo verte sull’epigramma di Meleagro AP 5.177, in cui il poeta presenta Eros come uno schiavo fuggitivo. L’analisi intende evidenziare la ricercatezza metrica, lessicale e poetica di Meleagro nel descrivere il dio e il rapporto conflittuale che egli intrattiene con lui. Particolare attenzione è rivolta all’articolato dialogo con la tradizione omerica, che si manifesta in forme che vanno da una generica memoria letteraria a una più specifica strategia allusiva.
