Evolution in the credit sector, driven by multiple digital challenges, is affecting the supply of innovative products, as a result of the “contamination” of more traditional business models with crypto-assets. However, the emergence of new credit services and offerings on the market has not been matched by a regulatory response in terms of consumer protection. A case in point is crypto lending, which is excluded from the scope of crypto-asset market regulation but is becoming increasingly widespread in both centralised and decentralised systems. This raises a number of questions about the search for a possible “safety net” for consumers, to be found among the available regulatory sources.

Abstract
Evolution in the credit sector, driven by multiple digital challenges, is affecting the supply of innovative products, as a result of the “contamination” of more traditional business models with crypto-assets. However, the emergence of new credit services and offerings on the market has not been matched by a regulatory response in terms of consumer protection. A case in point is crypto lending, which is excluded from the scope of crypto-asset market regulation but is becoming increasingly widespread in both centralised and decentralised systems. This raises a number of questions about the search for a possible “safety net” for consumers, to be found among the available regulatory sources.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
