The essay focuses on the elaboration of the relation between matter and form in Peirce’s early production, between the 1960s and 1970s. In this period Peirce elaborates a theory of information processes within which the concepts of form and matter are profoundly rethought. The essay shows how this reformulation moves in the direction of defining a semiotic materiality in which the sign system becomes a constitutive, and no longer simply descriptive, element of the real.

Abstract
The essay focuses on the elaboration of the relation between matter and form in Peirce’s early production, between the 1960s and 1970s. In this period Peirce elaborates a theory of information processes within which the concepts of form and matter are profoundly rethought. The essay shows how this reformulation moves in the direction of defining a semiotic materiality in which the sign system becomes a constitutive, and no longer simply descriptive, element of the real.File in questo prodotto:
