The main objective of this work is to contribute to the recent debate on organizational change and digital transformation in the justice system. To answer this research question, this study is based on a qualitative investigation approach following the Case Study approach. To achieve this goal, the Italian context was analysed, through interviews with personnel from the Bari judicial context who shed light on the potential associated with the intelligent use of technology in the judicial sector. The results highlighted that AI can offer technology-enhanced processes and improve the efficiency of the justice system. However, some critical issues have emerged in terms of barriers to technology and digital skills. In this sense, the study offers various ideas, potentially able to generate useful effects both for researchers and for professionals both in the Public Administration and in the IT sector.
